Dr. Dre has revealed there was a prenuptial agreement in response to his wife Nicole Young’s divorce filing.
Young, 50, who filed for divorce from the rapper, 55, on June 29 (US time), has requested spousal support and division of property, TMZ reports.
The outlet reports that the music mogul is on board with paying spousal support, but the distribution of real estate will be governed by their prenuptial agreement.
When Young initially filed for divorce, there was no mention of a prenup. Dr. Dre has featured in Forbes list of world’s wealthiest hip hop artists and is estimated to be worth $US 800 million (approx. $1.16 billion).
Young cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. Meanwhile, Dr. Dre listed the date of separation as March 27, 2020, a couple of weeks after going into lockdown in the US.
Young and Dr. Dre share two children: 23-year-old son Truice and 19-year-old daughter Trul. Dr. Dre also has four children from previous relationships.
The exes tied the knot in 1996. Young was previously married to NBA player Sedale Threatt.
